Why I Love The

Chevy HHR

I bought a 2006 Chevy HHR just because it wasn't foreign and I thought it looked really good, sort of retro. When I first bought it that was all I knew about it. After driving the little car home, I was already beginning to fall in love with it.  I decided to do some research and find out more about it.

The Chevrolet HHR is a four-door sport utility vehicle with a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission in the LS, 1LT, and 2LT models. The HHR has tons of features, and a great retro look all at affordable pricing. I found out the HHR was styled after a 1949 Chevrolet Suburban, which most people will not remember, or may not have ever even seen a picture of one.

The HHR has excellent fuel mileage.

The HHR has many accessories to choose from.

An HHR with great retro styling.

The regular HHR wagon has two trim levels namely LS and LT. The HHR LS includes 16-inch steel wheels, air-conditioning with cabin filtration, cruise control, keyless entry, a fold-flat front passenger seat, a 60/40- split-folding rear seat, full power accessories and a six-speaker CD stereo with auxiliary jack. On the other hand, HHR LT models come in standard 1LT and the upgraded 2LT. The HHR 1LT incorporates 16-inch wheels, an eight-way power driver seat and an MP3-compatible stereo. Meanwhile, the HHR 2LT adds a sport-tunes suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, exterior chrome accents, color-keyed running boards, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls and a premium audio speaker system with subwoofer.

Now that I have had my HHR a few years the 2009 HHR is out and looking good.

The 2009 Chevrolet HHR lineup receives a host of changes, including more standard power, the ability to run on E85 ethanol-blended fuel, and some new features. The HHR SS Panel is new for 2009. HHR LS and HHR LT have a 155-hp 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine, which an increase of 6 hp over 2008 models. Optional LT is a 172-hp 2.4-liter 4-cylinder. Both these engines are now capable of running on E85 ethanol. The SS has a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 250 or 260 hp depending on transmission selection. HHR SS versions have a specific sport suspension, 18-inch wheels, and unique trim. This SS is Sweet and Swift.  A 5-speed manual transmission is standard and a 4-speed automatic is optional on all HHR models. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, and curtain side airbags. Newly available on the 2009 HHR is a wireless cell phone link. A rearview camera is due later in the model year. Many accessories are available for the HHR and you can find the full selection at HHR Accessory.com
